  1. What is hypnotherapy and hypnosis?

The state of hypnotism is a state of physical relaxation accompanied and induced by extreme mental concentration. It is a state where you are easily accepting positive suggestions. It helps to increase focus , awareness, concentration and helps remembering memories in a deep state of relaxation without the interference of unimportant thoughts of our every day lives. It is a state that lets you communicate with your subconscious mind as it helps your conscious mind (which is only 5% of your mind ) to step aside and allows your subconscious mind ( which is 95% of your mind ) to step forward. Most of the day we are in a metal state of hypnosis without even knowing it and are constantly accepting suggestions from our environment. When you drive a car, you are in a state of light hypnosis. You are in control of the car, yet you are operating on autopilot without really realizing it. Its the same when you are reading a good book or watching a great movie. The human brain has four main brain wave states: beta, alpha, theta, and delta. During The day when in a task , you are in the beta state. You are alert and able to concentrate on what you are doing. The beta state is what we all normally inhabit during wakening hours. The alpha state is a relaxed state. You are able to access creativity and wander off into visualization. Artists can stay for long hours in this state as its the state from where we create. Theta state is a deeper state of relaxation. It is the common state of hypnosis and meditation. Theta allows you to access memories. You experience theta as you fall asleep and wake up every day. Finally we have delta state. This occurs while we sleep. Delta allows your body to heal and access the deepest corners of your subconscious mind. The Theta Brain wave stage which is accessed through hypnosis is where you feel deeply relaxed and is the doorway to the subconscious mind where you have access to insights and bursts of creative ideas .This state of consciousness is the key state for “your reality creation” through vivid imagery given in a way of positive suggestions during your sessions. If you are interested to choose hypnotherapy , it is important to remember to approach the experience with an open mind. Research has suggested that individuals who view hypnosis in a positive light tend to respond better and more effective.

  2. Will I be asleep or unconscious during the session?

No, you will only be in a different stage of awareness. Very relaxed and focused on the issues you want to resolve. You will be talking during the session and expressing easily your concerns and emotions to the therapist and find resolutions and closures on your own. The job of the therapist is to take you to that stage of awareness and guide you through this pleasant experience.

  3. Will I remember everything what I said during the hypnotherapy session?

People generally remember 90% of what they said during the session. All sessions are recorded and given to the client once the session is over so that you have to choice to listen to the session anytime you want.

  4. Can I be hypnotized against my will and permission?

Despite many stories about people being hypnotized without their consent, the therapist can only start the session after receiving full approval and permission of the client. The client can only be given suggestions during the sessions which are in line with his or her believe system and values, morals and principles. The more times you go into hypnosis, the easier it is and the deeper you are likely to go.

  5. How safe is hypnosis and does it have any side effects?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring, beneficial, positive state, and as far as we’re concerned it can never be bad for your health. It is just deep relaxation after all. Our guess would be that all medical practitioners would agree on the health benefits of deep relaxation. So as a therapy it should be embraced for producing personal growth, and personal empowerment.

  6. Why is hypnosis so effective?

Positive thoughts breed positive actions which bring positive success. That’s exactly how hypnotherapy works, helping install new feelings of well-being. Since hypnosis is accessing the creative subconscious part of the mind, there is much less resistance in accepting positive suggestions. Therefore the therapy can often be much more effective, and produce much quicker results, than with those achieved by psychotherapy alone. Due to the fact that hypnotherapy is accessing the subconscious mind directly , suppressed emotions like anger , sadness, grief and frustration can be released quickly which are the most common causes of self-sabotage and diseases. Hypnotherapy techniques with the aid of other alternative therapies like NLP ( Neuro Linguistic Programming) and EFT ( Emotional Freedom Technique) are the fastest and easiest modalities to experience lasting positive and enjoyable changes in your life.

  7. Do I need to prepare anything for the sessions ?

No. The therapist will guide you to the relaxing state of hypnosis which normally takes around 20 min in a smooth and enjoyable way and only then work with you on your issues with you being totally and completely under control. You just need to be in the moment with an open mind and accepting the positive change. You only need to be prepared that emotionally a session can be intense as a lot of release and healing will be happening. I would recommend you to wear comfortable loose clothes as its a session of relaxation.

  8. Can I come for hypnotherapy sessions even if I don’t have any major problem or heath issue I need to solve?

Yes. Hypnotherapy is an amazing tool to explore your hidden undiscovered talents and skills. Its a journey of self exploration and very useful to find the purpose of your existence. You will be able to ask questions to your higher consciousness to understand the purpose of your soul .The sessions will help you to upgrade to a new level of living in peace, happiness and joy and will guide you to your essence.

  9. Is hypnosis a part of proved science?

Hypnosis, or more precisely hypnotherapy, is one of the most studied modes of behavioral change. Many studies have proved how effective hypnotherapy is and its positive results and outcomes. A comparison study was conducted to measure the success rate of the effectiveness of hypnotherapy and here are the results: 38% of those using Psychoanalysis improved after 600 sessions 72% of those using Behavior Therapy improved after 22 sessions 93% of those using Hypnotherapy improved on 6 sessions or less! According to American Health Magazine, people react faster to Hypnotherapy because it reaches the core issue immediately and healing starts from the first session.

  10. Can I get “stuck” in the state of hypnosis?

No No and No . It would be impossible to remain in a state of hypnosis beyond the time it is purposely sustained. You are in control. You are always in control! Even if the therapist were to leave the room ( which does not happen), you would simply continue to rest for a few moments and would then bring yourself out of hypnosis easily and drive your car home. However, the therapist will always bring you out of hypnosis in a very gentle and smooth way so that you will be feeling much more energetic, aware and fully awake.

  11. What can be healed with Hypnotherapy ?

  12. How many sessions will I need and what will happen during the sessions?

Every person and every healing is different, and so is every course of hypnotherapy. Although hypnosis is considered to be a ‘rapid’ therapy it is rarely instantaneous, especially when dealing with long standing problems. For most people change is a process rather than an event, you undergo therapy over time, and results tend to be gradual. That seems reasonable, given that your problems have probably developed or continued over time too. The exact number of sessions you will need depends on you, your circumstances and what you want to achieve. Normally the needed sessions number will be from 4 to 8 sessions. One Session every one week depending on your condition and achievement. Each session is between one and a half and two hours and sometimes even more. In the session you will be taught NPL ( Neuro Linguistic Programming ) , EFT ( Emotional Freedom Technique) and Self Hypnosis which you will be able to use as tool of continuous improvement , healing and growth. You will also be given a CD with meditations and homework to complete between the sessions which have tremendous effect on your results. Only serious clients who are ready to give some personal effort and time will see and feel immediate positive changes in many aspects of their lives.
